Joan has used her 25+ years of experience as a marketing expert and combined that with her career as a professional musician and musical educator to meld together the best of both worlds. Joan's Education began at Queens College and the Aaron Copeland School of Music with a performance scholarship and double major in education. Her career has included to date jobs in music education as a 4th-8th grade band director; she has co-developed and run a very successful summer music program; she was the Director of Marketing for a Corporate Law Firm; she coordinated and ran annual town festivals attracting thousands of people each year and was a marketing professional for a major national Senior Housing Marketing and Developing Company. Joan uses her marketing skills, combined with her musical knowledge to compose bios and press kits that get noticed. Many people have either the musical or the marketing experience, but it's rare to find a person with both. Joan is that person and she has the maturity to be able to take her knowledge and use where it will be the most productive.

As an Educator, Joan has many years of experience both as a band director and private instructor specializing in pre-school and beyond. Having raised four children of her own, she knows what it takes to be patient and adapt the curriculum to the specific child’s learning style. Each lesson is custom created to the individual’s needs and patience and fun are the most important ingredients to getting to the goal of learning. Lessons offered include beginner piano, music reading, music appreciation, and for the elementary and above crowd, woodwinds (specifically flute, saxophone and oboe (all levels).
